Peter / Michelle
Lynn and I just wanted to say a big thank you for the holiday we had staying in your excellent cottage - the Stables - earlier in September.
What a fantastic place - the views, the scenery around the area, the peace and quiet, the dolphins at Chanonry Point, even the weather was kind to us.
Lynn says its the best holiday she has ever had, so I'm sure we'll be back some time in the future and will happily recommend the accommodation there to any friends, family, work colleagues etc that may consider a holiday in Scotland

Dear Michele and Peter, Just a short note to thank you both very much for the lovely holiday we have just had at Hillockhead. The Dolphin Cottage was delightful, with super views of the firth from the balcony. The walks around the complex were first class and we thought your video/book room an excellent idea. Margaret and Michelle saw far more dolphins than the expected at Chanonry Point and have numerous photos and videos. Thanks again as we hope to return in the future.
Best Wishes,
Mragaret, Michelle and John Simpson and Corrie our dog |

HI MICHELLE AND PETER
JUST TO LET YOU KNOW WHAT A FANTASTIC HOLIDAY WE HAD AT HILLOCKHEAD.
THE DOLPHIN COTTAGE WAS WELL UP TO OUR EXPECTATION AND THE VIEWS WHERE SPECTACULAR.
ON THIS TRIP WE WERE UNLUCKY NOT TO SEE THE DOLPHINS BUT OTHER EVENTS MADE UP FOR IT. IF YVONNE AND THE GIRLS HAD THEIR WAY WE WOULD BE UP AGAIN NEXT WEEK, THEY LOVE IT UP THERE. WHILST WE WERE UP THERE WE MANAGED TO TAKE IN THE SITES AROUND THE OTHER SIDE OF LOCH NESS UP FROM FORT AGUSTUS THAT IS NOT COMMERCIALISED AND THE VIEWS WERE SUPERB. THE GIRLS ENJOYED HAVING THE ANIMALS AROUND BUT A WEEK IS JUST NOT LONG ENOUGH TO TAKE EVERYTHING IN .
THANKS AGAIN FOR MAKING OUR HOLIDAY A HAPPY AND FRIENDLY ONE.
TAKE CARE MARTIN, YVONNE AND THE GIRLS SERENA AND ALISHA. |

Hi
Sorry-with rushing to get organised to leave we forgot to write in the visitors book.
We had a fantastic holiday-the cottage was perfect-the most well equipped we have ever stayed in, and the views truly magnificent.
The weather was very kind to us-and we managed to see the dolphins on our last day!
Too much to see in one week-we will definitely be back,
Thanks again,

Dear Michele and Peter
We've been back for a week now, but every day think of the lovely time we
had at Hillock Head. I know that the sunny weather was by chance, but the
rest of it was down to Hillock Head and the comfort of the cottage. You
made us feel very welcome - thank you.
With best regards

Hi Michele
Just a quick note to say I am sorry we didn’t get a chance to meet at the weekend – we were out and about a lot!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Chanonry. My Mum was right down memory lane as my Grandma and Grandad lived in Cromarty when my Grandad was Town Clerk in the sixties.
We went to see their house at Bayview and had lunch at the Royal Hotel where my Mum and Dad used to go for a wee night out when my brother and I were being looked after by the grandparents!
We also enjoyed a visit to Hugh Miller’s cottage which my daughter found fascinating as she loves crystals and fossils. We didn’t make it to Eathie beach to do our own fossicking – maybe next time.
We also had a fascinating trip to Culloden on the anniversary of the battle. There were flowers laid at every Clan gravestone and beautiful wreathes at the Cairn – it was really quite moving.
A few trips to Chanonry point too – although the dolphins didn’t oblige, we enjoyed walking around the point in the gale. It certainly blows the cobwebs away! And, on the way home, a trip to Landmark for Christina and Daddy to go on the flumes – not me or Mum!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - the cottage was extremely comfortable and very well equipped – you had thought of everything!
We hope to be back again for a longer break – thanks again.

Hello, I am sorry it has taken me a week, but I just wanted to let you
know what a fabulous week we had in the cottage.
Thank you for the up-grade to the Chanonry, it was a stunning cottage and
Ross loved having the whole of the upstairs to himself. Mind you he spent
most of the time he was upstairs asleep, the Black Isle air definitely
knocked him out!!
Thank you also for the advice about the car when the snow came in, we were
so glad it snowed, the scenery was out of this world, even I had not seen
anything like it before really, let alone Ross. He loved it.
I'm sure we will be back again we fell in love with Rosemarkie.
Thank you again,
Clare, David and Ross. xx

Sandy & I and Uiseag (the dog) had yet another wonderful New Year break at
Hillockhead. Just what we needed - peace, tranquility and doing nothing, if
we wanted!!
Michele, Peter & family, again, made us feel as if we were at home.
Can't wait for our next visit.

Hi Michele, Pete and Family,
Thanks for a wonderful holiday in such a magical place, I truly fell in love with it and will be back as soon as possible.
Lots of things to do and see, fantastic seeing the dolphins and red kites in the flesh.
Made welcome from the outset and have to say on returning to the cottage each evening we felt like we were coming home.
See you all soon |

I stayed at Hillockhead in October 2003 and had the most wonderful time. The cottage was ideal, and I could not have had a warmer welcome. I am going to try to visit the Black Isle again in 2006 and, if I manage it, I will definitely be staying at Hillockhead. Highly recommended!! |

First time we have stayed at Hillockhead and it was wonderful! So tranquil and the accommodation was very comfortable. Lots of interesting places to visit, watched the dolphins and lovely walks along the local beaches. Would thoroughly recommend it if you need peace from the busy rush of everyday life! Thank you Peter and Michelle - think you have a very special place.

We had a fantastic holiday. There was just so much to do with the children. Pony trekking in Fortrose was great - so nice to ride out all four of us. Chanonry Point was great, the sand was nice and we saw seals, although no dolphins. We did see dolphins, seals and harbour porpoises with the Avoch boat trip. We also saw a red kite just outside Inverness. The Black Isle brewery was small but the beer was great, have ordered two crates. Fairy Glen was super. Cairn Gorm was cold, snowy and windy with zero vision but the kids enjoyed the funicular. Castle Urquhart was great and both kids apparently saw Nessie (I missed her!). Highly recommend your cottages. Would love to return. |

Just thought i would send a quick note. Sorry we were unable to say
goodbye, we left at about 6.30, nearly had to come and get you up - it took
several attempts to get up the last bit of track! We all had a fantastic
holiday, well worth the travel. Many thanks for your warm welcome - mince
pies and decorations. Jack and Anna say it was the best holiday ever, which
i think it probably was. Look forward to seeing you again. Have a great new
year.

Despite the weather we had a great time in August 2004. Our kids loved Tess and the fact that even if it was raining, the Snooker and games rooms had plenty to keep them occupied.
Would definitely come back - we cant be that unlucky with the weather twice!
We recommend - Laidlaws fish and chips, the potter in Cromarty (so reasonable for hand-thrown bowls and mugs). The bookshop in Cromarty - you can sign the ceiling! The dolphins at Avoch (phone Pete and get him to spot them before you get on the boat - and tell the captain where to go)
Rockpooling onthe beach (the sun did shine - a bit)
Admin's Comment: Phils exaggerating about the weather! There was loads of sun shine! |
