Hillockhead is set in 160 acres overlooking the Moray Firth on the south coast of the Black Isle.

The Black Isle is not actually an island, but a peninsula separating the Moray and Cromarty Firths - a few miles north of Inverness, the capital of the Highlands.

Services to and from Inverness Airport include return trips from Luton, Gatwick, Bristol, Manchester, Leeds and Belfast from as low as £4.99 . Check out Easyjet, Eastern Airways, British Airways, British Midland, or Flybe for further information.

Take advantage of these cheap flights and book an "off peak" break at Hillockhead. Phone or email for more information.

The villages of Cromarty, Rosemarkie, Fortrose and Avoch are between 3 - 7 miles from the cottages. The amenities include grocery shops, butchers, fishmonger, all day pubs, restaurants, cafes, bank, post office, garage, Pictish museum.

Dolphin cruises, pony trekking, indoor leisure centre, 18 hole golf course, tennis courts, bowling green, fishing and sailing are all within 7 miles/12km of the cottages.

Hillockhead is an ideal base for day trips around the Highlands. Loch Ness and the legendary monster is only 40 minutes drive away, and the spectacular scenery of the west coast is less than 2 hours journey.

An early start enables a full day in the Orkneys which includes a short ferry crossing and a well organised coach trip.

Tours of Glenmorangie or Glen Ord distilleries are both within 40 minutes drive and only a little further afield lies the Strathspey Whisky Trail.
