October 2007
We have been enjoying this beautiful mild autumn weather, we could have done with some of this sunshine during the unpredictable summer! Still the Black Isle did better than many parts of the country and more importantly it has not stopped the dolphins and seals coming out in force and even quite a few minke whale sightings too.
Tess our border collie dog continues to be one of the main attractions here and so does Meg although she can be rather boisterous! We have a red kite regularly flying around the cottages and several guests have commented on the variety of wild flowers growing near by.
New developments in Fortrose include the Eilean Dubh restaurant, an extension to the Belgium chocolate shop and also Harry Gows bakery– yum!
We hope to have our own new development next year as we have planning permission for 2 new detached cottages at the top of the track leading down to Hillockhead Farm.
